Critical Studies Project: Photo Totems
To the right is an example of a Lewis Koch inspired totem I made using iPhone photos and Photoshop for the layout. Students were tasked with making their own photo totem based around their own personal identity and postmodernist ideas discussed in class. It's a very simple project concept, but it teaches students to think about narrative, montage, editing, composition and how meaning can be generated and manipulated but creating compositional structure of sculpture.

A quick example totem I made using iPhone photos made while in China.
